Pomorie is a city in Southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Burgas District. The city is the administrative center of Pomorie Municipality. According to data as of March 15, 2024, 14,856 people live in the city at their current address and 15,161 people at their permanent address. It is the third largest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast after Varna and Burgas.
The seashore is low, sandy, with an open horizon to the east and west, protected to the north by the Balkan Mountains. The Pomorie Bay has 18,700 sq m of beach. The seabed is shallow, with a slight slope, without reefs and cold sea currents and is safe for swimming.
The city is located at equal distances of 21.3 km from the regional center Burgas and Nessebar and 116 km from Varna.
A large water basin near the city is the Pomorie Lake, which is a LAGOON of natural origin. It is separated from the sea by a natural sand spit, and in its southern part there is an artificial channel connecting it to the sea. - lye - a final product of salt production in the Pomorie salt pans with a much higher concentration of all elements of sea and lake water. It has an anti-inflammatory effect.
- salty mineral water, unique to the country - was discovered through drilling in 2007. It springs from 70 m underground. The water is many times saltier than sea water. It is not suitable for drinking, but is used for SPA procedures in one of the hotels.
